Client: Balihoo | Aflac
Balihoo, a provider of localized sites for client Aflac and other large national brands.
The Proposal
Aflac approached Balihoo with the need to modernize and update their localized sites for the Aflac broker network. The need was to update the lead capture microsites to better accommodate the shift to mobile users that were now making up the bulk of traffic to these sites.
Issues with usability also needed to be addressed with the mobile functionality that was incapable of meeting the needs of the mobile users and delivering the desired results. Issues regarding the lack of continuity with Alfac's design and branding on a national level also needed to be addressed.
The Outcome
Analytics and user feedback showed the needs of the mobile user and desktop user needed to be addressed as two different experiences and outcome. The mobile user was clearly expressing different needs and patterns that the design needed to accommodate over the desktop user.
I approached the design from a responsive/mobile first, ensuring the needs of the user and Aflac were both addressed. The design process also went through several iterations to accommodate Aflac stakeholder requirements that evolved over the life of the project. According content and assets that Aflac was evolving during the process was the main challenge.
My Role:
